It's bad enough that there are an average of two teacher whatever days each month, plus one holiday. This month, as we know, we have the joyous season which means those of us who work from home full-time need to figure out how to keep the chaos to a minimum, farm out the children and not lose our minds. Now we have the added bonus of at least two snow days with no snow plow in sight.
Sunday was fun, i must admit. I loved playing with the children in the snow, ditching mass due to icy roads. The news ran it all day Sunday that there would be no school today. By 11 a.m. today, they knew that there wouldn't be any school tomorrow. I don't think they are putting any effort into getting this done. If they were really trying, they wouldn't know until hours before if they were not able to make their goal of clearing the roads to get the happy children to school.
We were fortunate that our babysitter also was home today. We tapped into her last night, just in case. Whew! That was three hours. Tomorrow, gulp, it's our turn. The girls are here, going in and out the door with snow clothes, getting dry clothes, warming up, going back out all day long. It's ballet of dressing and undressing.
Please let tomorrow be the last snow day for the week. Let them go for a few more days before the dreaded winter break begins.
