Our son came out of the blue with something today. He came over to me and put his arms around me saying...
"I know your daddy and mommy are dead and daddy's mommy and daddy are dead. Do not be sad. You have us to always keep you company. We won't leave you."
He's three and a half.
I'm not sure where he got this. It is true, but why would he feel the need to comfort us with this assurance? I was touched and moved to tears.
