I'm sad to report my best friend is NOT coming to visit. Regional sales meeting got in the way. But, she's daring me, as a birthday present, to meet her in San Francisco. My husband is having great difficulty with the pronouns in this invitation. Somehow he's confusing, "... invited me" with "...invited three."
I'm not sure how he is so confused.
He's an intelligent man.
His listening skills, at times need work; but usually he doesn't make such a consistent mistake in understanding. I went over it a few times and shifted the words around to assist him. Perhaps illustrations would better clarify.
He's almost there. He wants to make sure my friend know that we'll have the children on the plane and she can meet them at the airport.
He's close. Now he only thinks two people are going.
I'll keep working on it.
She and I are picking the flight for ME tomorrow or the next day. I can't wait. I haven't been to San Francisco for nearly 20 years. It's just for one night, but to have the time with her all to myself almost feels decadent. I'd be able to talk with her NON-STOP, without interruption for HOURS and HOURS.
I'm giddy at the thought.
