I may have found my solution - headphones and MY music. It truly annoys the children that I can't hear their nannerings, but I'm much more peaceful with my music and big, cushy headphones.
Today was spent with some recent acquisitions:
The Best of the Jags (for Raquel)
Confessions on the Dance Floor (Madonna) to keep the pace
Shine a Light (Stones) to start to bring it down for the day
Across the Universe (soundtrack) to give the Beatles a new spin
Van Morrison - collections from several albums
and my assortment of 70's and 80's favorites including Earth, Wind and Fire and the Go Go's.
